Beethoven Quartet in C minor, op18 no.4
Brahms Quartet in A minor, op 51 no.2
The Marmen Quartet undertook an Aldeburgh Young Artist residency this year and recently
won the Music in the Round ‘Bridge’ professional development scheme, mentored by Peter Cropper
of the legendary Linsday Quartet.
A beautifully balanced programme presents three works by composers at early stages of their
careers – the stormy passions of Beethoven, the delicate precisions of Ravel, and the lyricism of
Brahms, who worked on this quartet for over ten years before he considered it complete.
